Parliamentary roundtable: How the UK can lead on phasing out oil and gas

On Wednesday 6th September 2023, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Climate Change (Climate APPG) hosted a Parliamentary Roundtable on How the UK can lead on phasing out oil and gas, with  Steve Pye, Associate Professor in Energy Systems at UCL, Tessa Khan, Executive Director at Uplift and Darren Procter, National Secretary at RMT trade union.

As the public and political discussion around transitioning away from oil and gas increases, this meeting was an opportunity for cross-party parliamentarians to find out from climate and policy experts why and how the UK can fairly transition away from oil and gas towards an energy system dominated by renewables.

The following Parliamentarians attended the roundtable: Caroline Lucas MP, Anna McMorrin MP, Daisy Cooper MP, Wera Hobhouse MP, Beth Winter MP, Olivia Blake MP, Christina Rees MP and Paul Blomfield MP
